Gengimed Hits the Streets of Koforidua with Free Dental Screening Exercise

In a bid to promote better oral health and create more awareness about dental hygiene, Gengimed Dental Clinic took to the streets of Koforidua with a free dental screening exercise that brought smiles and relief to many residents.

The outreach, organized under Gengimed’s community health initiative, saw the clinic’s dedicated team of dentists, hygienists, and volunteers engaging the public in various parts of the city — from the bustling central market to transport terminals and local communities. The team offered free oral examinations, consultations, and education on proper dental care practices.

Speaking during the exercise, Dr. Eric Frimpong, Lead Dentist at Gengimed Dental Clinic, emphasized the importance of regular dental checkups and preventive care.

“Our goal is to make oral health accessible to everyone. Many people avoid dental visits because of fear or financial barriers. By bringing our services to the streets, we’re breaking that barrier and helping people take the first step toward a healthier smile,” he said.

Residents of Koforidua warmly received the initiative, with dozens taking advantage of the opportunity to have their teeth checked. Some beneficiaries who had been living with dental pain for months expressed deep gratitude for the chance to receive free care and professional advice.

In addition to the screenings, the Gengimed team distributed toothbrushes, toothpaste, and educational flyers, while also demonstrating proper brushing techniques — especially for children and young adults who gathered around with curiosity and excitement.

The free dental screening forms part of Gengimed’s broader mission to advance community health through outreach and education, ensuring that every Ghanaian, regardless of their background, understands the value of oral hygiene and preventive dental care.

As the team wrapped up the day’s activity, one thing was clear — Gengimed’s presence in Koforidua left more than just cleaner teeth; it left a lasting impact of hope, health, and heartfelt smiles.
