UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION GHANA (UNA-GH) INAUGURATES NEW INTERIM NATIONAL EXECUTIVES
Accra, Ghana –The United Nations Association-Ghana (UNA-GH) has inaugurated Interim National Executives to run the affairs of the Association for one year. This follows the National Executive Committee’s decision to form a national Advisory Council out of the outgoing leadership. The interim leaders are to steer the affairs of the Association for one year after which they are to organize elections to elect substantive executives for the Association.
Interim National Executives Appointed: The following staff (who hitherto served under the National Secretariat) have been appointed as Interim National Executives:
- Mr. Conrad Kakraba – Acting National President
- Dr. Gladys A. Abindaw Nabieu – Acting 1st Vice President
- Dr. Timothy Avordeh – Acting 2nd Vice President
- Ms. Catherine Blavo Lotsu- Acting 3rd Vice President
- Ms. Belinda Narkey Quaynor Esq. – Acting Secretary General
- Mr. Emmanuel Owusu – Acting Deputy Secretary General
- Mr. George Essel – Acting Director of Finance
Commitments and Future Plans: On behalf of the Interim National Executives, Mr. Conrad Kakraba emphasized a strong commitment to:
- Projecting the association’s main objective to be the People’s Movement to promote the agenda of the United Nations
- Developing programs for the association’s progress.
- Ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections within the stipulated one-year period. The immediate past National Executives who now form the National Advisory Council are:
- Bishop Peter Kojo Sackey – National President
- Prof. William Gyadu-Asiedu – 1st Vice President
- Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu – 2nd Vice President
- Nana Ama Amissah III – 3rd Vice President
- Nene Amanor Aklebeto I – Secretary-General
- Rev. Dr. Mark Nii Lamptey – Deputy Secretary General
- Mr. Lord Asante Fodjour – Director of Administration/Membership and IT
- Mr. Wilberforce Andrews – Director of Finance
- Mr. Stephen Kojo Sackey -Director of International Relations/National Coordinator
